Elgin County Official Plan Review
The purpose of an Official Plan Review is to ensure it reflects the changing needs, opportunities and aspirations of the County, and that any changes to community vision/values, directions, policies and actions are reflected in the Official Plan.
To get this done, the County needs to know what’s important to Elgin County residents, employers and visitors, and how they want to see the County grow.

In line with the recently adopted Community Safety and Well Being plan, I'd like to see priority given to enhancing community walkability, specifically to Active and Safe Routes to School: adding bike lanes when doing road construction planning, ensuring sidewalks on routes, considering Wayfinding signs. Reliable Internet and cellular services are essential to existing and future economic development and growth in Elgin County. Specifically in the rural, underserviced areas of the County. I would like to see priority given to future improvement/upgrades of these necessary services and include them as such in Elgin County's Official Plan.
