The following images provide a high-level overview of the updates made to the document, as well as a summary of the transportation needs and opportunities.


Phase One Report Updates: Updated municipal boundaries and road jurisdiction changes following the annexation of the County of Elgin/Municipality of Central Elgin lands to the City of St. Thomas in 2023 Updated population and employment statistics and projections Updated traffic statistics and analysis based on year 2024 traffic counts Updated travel pattern information, drawing on the 2021 Census data Updated area transit service information Updated transportation plans and policies for the County of Elgin, its Local Municipal Partners, adjacent municipalities, and the Ontario government

The report summarizes transportation needs and opportunities as follows: Support the County Road network for efficient and safe connectivity of residents, businesses, visitors, and goods Expand active transportation connections and infrastructure Explore the potential for transit services Support the movement of goods to, from and within Elgin County Develop supporting strategies and policies
